This is such a hard process because everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. I think a lot of people are trying to evaluate based on their strengths and not necessarily what is most important in the class. This class is based a lot of talking and participating. That makes our class better, so the more it is worth would help to make people put more effort there. Some people seem to be really stuck with the ideas of their past professors. They know that tests are commonly the bulk of the grade and don't want to change that. But participation evaluates a student just as much as an exam does.

I haven't participated much in the past few discussions about evaluating. Some of the students seem to be really stubborn and would rather not even give the other groups a chance to explain their ideas. How is that fair? I think a lot of people were afraid of their thoughts getting shot down right away. One girl said an idea and right away someone answered "No."
